I will light my candles as usual on Sunday
Our memories build a special bridge
When loved ones have to part.
To help us feel we're with them still
And soothe a grieving heart.
Our memories span the years we shared,
Preserving ties that bind.
They build a special bridge of love
And bring us peace of mind.
When tomorrow starts without me
And I'm not there to see;
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
All filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn't cry
The way you did today
While thinking of the many things
We didn't get to say.
I know how much you love me,
As much as I love you.
And each time that you think of me
I know you'll miss me too.
But when tomorrow starts without me
Please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name
And took me by the hand.
If tears could build a stairway,
And memories were a lane,
We would walk right up to heaven
And bring you back again.
Our hearts still ache in sadness
And secret tears still flow.
What it meant to lose you
No one can ever know.
But now we know you want us
To mourn for you no more.
To remember all the happy times,
Life still has much in store.
Since you'll never be forgotten,
We pledge to you today:
A hallowed place within our hearts
Is where you'll always stay.
A million times we've needed you,
A million times we've cried.
If love could have saved you,
You never would have died.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we love you still.
In our hearts you hold a place
No one will ever fill.
It broke our hearts to lose you
But you didn't go alone.
Part of us went with you
The day God took you home.

My Granda
Billy was my Granda.
He was 'nee bother'. Never moaned about a thing - just was happy to go along with everyone else and wahtever they were doing.
He never got to meet my little boy, Matthew who was born 5 days before he died. He was so looking forward to his visits from him every day.
He was lost without my Gran but found his comfort in my mam, Lynn who was his all. After Gran died, she was his daughter, wife, mother, sister, nurse and best friend.
I know how much she misses him but I know he is always around. I see him in my Matthew all the time, and smile when I think of his funny witty things he would say, or his expressions he would make if I did something he thought daft or silly.
A true gentleman.
The best father in law in the world
Billy we were in each others lifes for only a short time but that was all the time I needed to realise you were the best. Now you are flying high in the clouds with your Molly and Olivia. Take care Billy Love you always xxxxx
